Freshly launched this summer, Unborn Records is the product of the long-time collaboration between French artists Tomsize and Simeon. Well-established producer of the trap scene, you surely have heard of Tomsize and his official remix of Major Lazer’s summer hit “Come on to me” which instantly went off the charts. His brother and fellow artist Simeon on the other hand, gained wide reputation with his cutting-edge tracks that have breached the vibrant and hypest clubs of the capital. It was only a matter of time before those two, in their conquest of the Trap World, launched their very own label with the release in June of the massive festival trap anthem “Jump”, which hit 10 000 downloads in two weeks.
First recruit of the label: Creaky Jackals, a rising duo of Parisians producers with their roaring and enslaving tune “Addicted”. Next in line is the hit “Skank” by 8Er$, a collective of three artists who share the same taste for Hip-hop and refined women, followed by their knife-edged track entitled “Sharp”. From the south of France, Dakat for his part unveils a laid-back and chill song “Kerajaan” before teaming up with co-founder Tomsize on “Jungle Pan”, adding a French Riviera touch to the Parisian label. Other fruit of a successful collaboration between Tomsize and Canadian artist Bishu, the bouncy track “Mystic” certainly draws attention. Finally, brace yourselves and your speakers as Australian members of Unborn, Hydraulix and Oski, team up with the Creaky Jackals duo for their release “Grind”.
As Trap music flourishes around the world, Unborn’s ambition is to promote quality and avant-garde music. If you happen to be in Paris on October 10th, be sure to make it to the label’s launching party in legendary Social Club. Otherwise rest assured, you’ll keep hearing from Unborn in the following months…
